1½ years has passed since Lord Belial was put on ice.
Lord Belial has now been resurrected with the original line-up.

Lord Belial has quit all their activities. All future gigs are cancelled.
We would like to thank all fans, bands we have played with, labels, organizers
and everyone involved in the band for the past 17 years!
The main reason for this is the hearing problem (tinnitus)
that has grown into a quite big problem for Micke the last years…
The other members in the band were not forced to put an end to the band but
instead they mutually agreed that finding another drummer was not a solution
for the future.
Anyhow, if Micke’s hearing will be at least a little bit recovered after
a break from music and especially live appearances for some time, we really
hope that we can continue where we ended.
We will not comment or discuss this in emails etc.

We regret to announce that we had to give up the Greek/Macedonian
and Turkish gigs as it was planned initially. Unfortunately it has nothing to
do with our desire to play there, we look forward to a near future and some
gigs in the mentioned area.
Also the tour was reduced with 1 week (6th-10th of Oct working days). Separated
UK and Scandinavian legs of the European Tour will be announced for later in
this fall. As for the German dates, we are working on it and everything will

We’ve received some new endorsements and we’ve also started to book
some gigs for the upcoming festivals this summer, Thomas just got his brand

The gig in Romania on Saturday is postponed, because of the refusal of the local
authorities to approve having the concert on the same day as the referendum.

all of us in Lord Belial felt that we ought to ask Niclas ‘Pepa’
Andersson to rejoin Lord Belial after a few years of absence, we asked and he
immediately accepted so hereby we have the pleasure to welcome the old bastard
Niclas to the ranks once more - now we have the ranks filled with nothing but
original members again!!

A statement from Hjalmar regarding his decicion to leave Lord Belial:
I want to start with a big THANK YOU to THOMAS, MICKE & ANDERS for this
great time with Lord Belial that I’ve had for the past three years. You
let me jump on to a moving train on which I learned, developed, had the opportunity
to meet a lot of cool people, bands and to face thousands of metalheads banging
to our music! Thank you all for this.
As I’m writing this statement, Lord Belial’s seventh
album Revelation is completed and actually pumping through my headphones right
this moment. What strikes me is that it’s a powerful album with a lot
of surprises as well as classic Lord Belial material and I’m very satisfied
with my part in it. Then you might ask; why am I leaving? Well, it’s just
time. I have given Lord Belial everything I can give in form of music and therefore
decided to continue, or maybe I should say renew, my musical “quest”.
I feel that my last contribution to Lord Belial was my best yet and a worthy
conclusion of my time in the band, but I must say it makes me sad to not be
able to share it with an audience from the stage.
There are absolutely no hard feelings involved in my decision and I just hope
the best for the guys as they are great people and good friends.
Up the Backelins!!!

The European Tour is now over and we would like to send out a very

tour manager/soundtech Mehmet, the bus driver Marcel and the merchandisers Martin
and Jenny. We would also like to give a big hail to all fans that came to the
gigs even though it was absolutely no fucking promotion at all due to the really
incompetent booking.

We, Lord Belial, sadly have to inform that we will not be able to attend the
Jallometalli Festival in Oulu, Finland because of injury in the band. Micke
has gotten a severe lumbago and will not be able to perform any drumming for
quite some while. We are very sorry for any inconvenience we might have caused
both the festival organizers as well as the visitors.

The new album NOCTURNAL BEAST was completed this week (Wednesday 13th). The
result is 11 songs including intro and outro and the playing time is about 43
minutes. We are very satisfied with the sound and we would like to thank Mr
Andy LaRoque for a splendid work once again! Right now we are just waiting for
the album cover and the layout to be completed. The album will hopefully be
released this coming autumn.

Lots of stuff is happening in Lord Belial camp at the moment.
June 13th Lord Belial will enter the Los Angered Recording Studio to record
their sixth full-length album, all the songs is done; now all that remain is
lots of rehearsing, and of course some general touch-up’s and improvements.
In this very moment, the famous artist Kris Verwimp is painting a cover for
the ‘Nocturnal Beast’.
Additionally with the new logo, Lord Belial is going through lots of changes
that make it all feel very exciting, as if a new era is rising…
Lord Belial is in contact with a promotion company that now is working hard
to put together a headlining European tour later this year.

Lord Belial has set June 13 as the date to commence the recording of Nocturnal
Beast, the follow up to The Seal of Belial, which is due for release
on Regain Records later this year. The studio is as reported the same as for
the last 3 albums, namely Los Angered Recording.

Great news, Anders has recovered quite well from his surgery so that we can

Anders Backelin will be going through a surgery this night and due to the related
complications which may follow Anders is ordered to take it easy for at least
6 months. The top priority for Lord Belial right now is to let Anders rest and
therefore we will not commence any live activities for the rest of the year,
instead we will work on new material. All booked gigs are cancelled until further
notice.
We, the other members of Lord Belial wish Anders the best of luck!

Lord Belial has suffered from a lot of obstacles and various problems lately
that has forced us to cancel a couple of gigs for the past few weeks, we´re
very sorry if this has caused any trouble for organizors and visitors of planned
gigs.

We have been informed that the upcoming album "The seal of Belial"
will be delayed! Due to this (and the fact that our gear is still at the airport
of Amsterdam), there will be no releasegigs, so the gig in MALMÖ june 18
is cancelled as well as the gig in UDDEVALLA july 03.
Hopefully our gear will be back within time for us to perform the gig in NORWAY
as scheduled.
